Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy aims to restore movement and function, relieve pain, and prevent further injury. Treatments combined with an active approach of kinesiology/exercise therapy results in a quicker return to activities of normal life, care giving, and/or work and helps minimize the risk of deconditioning.

Physiotherapists are trained to:

  • Perform the evaluation and treatment of numerous physical conditions of all age groups
  • Treat people with musculoskeletal disorders such as back strains or knee injuries, neurological deficits such as stroke patients
  • Helps people live more active and independent lives - helping people help themselves!
  • Treatments include patient education to teach how to deal with a current problem and how to prevent this problem from recurring in the future
  • Functional training for work-related, Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA), home activities, and recreational and sports interests
  • Assessment and education on use of ambulatory devices such as canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
  • Hands-on treatment including joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, range of motion exercises and patient education

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a branch of health sciences, which focuses upon the body's neuromusculoskeletal system. A chiropractor is concerned with how your body's skeletal and nervous system is functioning. Since your spine is the key highway for your central nervous system, a chiropractor is trained to use a variety of diagnostic measures to examine and treat your spine and bone structure.

  • Initial Assessment: consultation/examination
  • Subsequent treatment
  • Hands-on art of spinal adjustment
  • Adjustment is the use of a specific force applied in a precise direction to a joint that is troublesome (perhaps it is fixated, locked-up or not moving properly)
  • Help restore a more normal position or motion, often relieving pain
  • Each treatment and each adjustment is unique
  • Age, size, and individual spine problems will determine which adjustment technique will best put you on the road to a pain-free back and neck

Massage Therapy

Eveyone enjoys the benefits of massage, whether to help in the treatment of injuries or the important relaxation and stress relief benefit that come with such a treatment.

Treatments include:

  • 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour sessions are available
  • Hands on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body
  • Develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical dysfunction and pain as well as enhance the well being of the client
  • Therapeutic effect and improve health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems
